<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>In the context of the rapid growth of scientific information, graphical abstracts (GAs) have become an increasingly important tool for the concise and visually structured communication of key research findings. This article offers a comprehensive analysis of both the theoretical foundations and practical considerations involved in the development of graphical abstracts. Particular attention is devoted to current standards of visual design, the typology of GAs, and the sequential stages of their creation. The discussion also addresses empirical evidence on the effectiveness of graphical abstracts, including their impact on citation rates and altmetric indicators, as well as future prospects for their advancement (the integration of multimedia formats, automation through artificial intelligence tools, and the institutionalization of standard design practices).</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>графическая аннотация</kwd><kwd>визуализация данных</kwd><kwd>научная коммуникация</kwd><kwd>визуальное резюме</kwd><kwd>научная публикация</kwd><kwd>цитируемость</kwd><kwd>искусственный интеллект</kwd><kwd>редакционная практика</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>graphical abstract</kwd><kwd>data visualization</kwd><kwd>scholarly communication</kwd><kwd>visual summary</kwd><kwd>scientific publishing</kwd><kwd>citation impact</kwd><kwd>artificial intelligence</kwd><kwd>editorial practice</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Atkinson, R.C., &amp; Shiffrin, R.M.
